Wrekt - Rough Roadmap / Next Steps


We had a great time building Wrekt for the Epic Mega Jam, and now that it's over we're looking at putting together a roadmap to build out the game more fully.

Though we submitted Wrekt as a two player game we already have the framework in place for "Networked Destruction" so implementing online multi-player support will be relatively easy and is the final goal for the game.

Vehicle customization is also already implemented though we don't have it active in the current build.  As we get the time each vehicle in the game will get full customization and destruction treatment.

Over the next few months we'll also be adding thing such as:

  • Power-Ups
  • New Weapons
  • More Vehicles with more personality
  • New Maps
  • Performance optimizations
  • Online Leaderboards

Wrekt currently makes use of Quixel Megascans converted into destructible assets, we're looking at ways we can optimize these.  Between those and the real-time ray-tracing being used the current build is a resource hog, but it does make for an interesting case-study.  We welcome anyone to try out the game and let us know how it runs for you.
